The great gathering of motorcycle travelers departing from Coriano to discover Southern Italy
The Italian Challenge (also known as Transitalia Challenge) is an international motorcycle tourism rally that in 2026 reaches its ninth edition. For the official start, the organization has chosen Coriano, a municipality in the Province of Rimini in Emilia-Romagna: from June 13 to 18, 2026, the town's streets will be filled with touring motorcycles and riders ready to set off towards the South of the peninsula.
The philosophy of the event is clear from the organizers' motto: "only real kilometers, real hospitality, real Italy". The Italian Challenge is not a competition and does not involve any timing: it is an organized journey of about 1,200 kilometers divided into four stages, along secondary roads, passes, and small villages often far from the main tourist flows. The itinerary touches some of the most evocative locations in central-southern Italy, from Coriano to Norcia, from Ovindoli to Termoli, up to Venosa and the final arrival in Ostuni.
On June 13, Coriano hosts the welcome phase: in the afternoon, participants arrive from various parts of Italy and Europe, complete their registration, and collect their travel materials. This is followed by the organizational briefing with the presentation of the adventure and, in the evening, a grand convivial dinner bringing together motorcyclists, staff, and the local community. The actual departure towards the southern stages takes place the following morning, transforming the town square into a festive meeting point.
To accommodate those who cannot dedicate the entire week to the journey, the Italian Challenge offers a "3+2" formula: you can choose to cover all five days of the classic edition, or just the first three-day block or the last two-day block. Along the route, there are fully paved variants, designed for those who prefer to avoid off-road sections.
Registration includes access to equipped areas at the start and end of each stage, the Challenge bag, the Travel Quiz Book, end-of-stage dinners with a final party, medical staff and assistance vehicles along the route, the GPS track with waypoints and map, as well as luggage transport service. An organization that allows participants to focus on the pleasure of riding and discovering the territory.
Organized by the Motoclub Strade Bianche in Moto in collaboration with the Pro Loco Coriano, the event brings an international gathering to the heart of the Province of Rimini, capable of enhancing the village as a transit point in the great Italian adventouring tradition. For two-wheel enthusiasts, Emilia-Romagna thus confirms its vocation as a Motor Valley, a land of engines and journeys.
The ninth edition of the Italian Challenge takes place from June 13 to 18, 2026, with departure from Coriano, in the Province of Rimini. On June 13, the town hosts the welcome, registration, organizational briefing, and convivial dinner; the motorcycle journey begins the following morning.
The itinerary, approximately 1,200 km over four stages, connects Coriano to Ostuni via Norcia, Ovindoli, Termoli, and Venosa, along secondary roads and villages in Southern Italy. The "3+2" formula is available to participate in the entire edition or just some blocks.
Coriano is located in the hinterland of Rimini, a few kilometers from the coast. By car: exit at Rimini Sud on the A14 highway, then follow signs for Coriano. By train: Rimini station, connected by bus to the hinterland. Nearest airport: Rimini-Miramare "Federico Fellini".
The meeting point on June 13, 2026, is in the center of Coriano (Piazza Don Minzoni area). Activities include registration, briefing, and convivial dinner; the motorcycle departure is the following morning.
