The Catania stop of the international street food touring festival
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
International Street Food is one of Italy's most prominent touring festivals dedicated to street food, promoted by the A.I.R.S. - Italian Street Food Restaurateurs Association, led by Alfredo Orofino. Every year, the caravan of food trucks travels through hundreds of town squares across the peninsula, and Sicily is one of the regions with the most stops. Among these is Gravina di Catania, a town in the Etna hinterland in the province of Catania, which hosts the event under the patronage of the Municipality and in collaboration with Confartigianato Catania.
The gastronomic village is set up at Parco Paolo Borsellino, along Via Roma, a green, pedestrian-friendly space in the town center that is perfect for hosting stands, mobile restaurants, and public areas. The format follows the tour's proven success: free admission and evening hours, with kitchens running from late afternoon until late at night, in a convivial atmosphere that attracts families, groups of friends, and foodies of all ages.
The heart of the event is its culinary variety. Along the park's paths, you will find specialties that take you around the world in just a few hundred meters:
Beyond the food, the event focuses on the atmosphere: music, lights, and the typical joy of Sicilian summer evenings provide the perfect backdrop for tasting.
For Gravina di Catania, a populous town at the gates of the provincial capital, International Street Food is an event that brings Parco Borsellino to life, attracting visitors from neighboring towns and Catania itself. The festival is part of the broader Sicilian circuit of the tour, which visits numerous cities on the island, helping to revitalize public spaces by transforming them into meeting places for celebration. A free and accessible event that combines the tradition of street food with the discovery of global cuisines, all within the context of the Sicily Region.
The 2026 edition of International Street Food in Gravina di Catania is expected as part of the national tour promoted by A.I.R.S., but official dates have not yet been published. In previous years, the event took place in late spring/early summer at Parco Paolo Borsellino, along Via Roma, with free admission. The 2026 program (participating food trucks, cuisines, and beers) will be announced by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
Gravina di Catania is located a few kilometers from Catania, along the foothills of Mount Etna. By car, it can be reached from the Catania ring road (Gravina/San Giovanni Galermo exit); the event takes place at Parco Paolo Borsellino, on Via Roma, in the town center. By train or plane, the reference point is Catania (Central Station and Catania-Fontanarossa Airport), which is connected to Gravina by local and suburban public transport.
Free admission. The event usually spans three evenings with night-time opening hours (approximately from 6:00 PM until midnight). The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: we recommend checking the official tour website and the Municipality's channels.
