The game meat festival in the Monte Severino grove in Fiano Romano
The Hunters' Festival is one of the most deep-rooted summer events in Fiano Romano, a town in the Metropolitan City of Rome, in the Lazio region, overlooking the Tiber Valley at the gates of Sabina. Organized by the "Le Sasseta" Hunters' Club with the patronage of the Municipality, the event enlivens the last weekend of June every year and is part of the rich Estate Fianese calendar. The Monte Severino grove, an area immersed in greenery on the outskirts of the town, becomes a three-day landmark for lovers of rural traditions, authentic flavors, and conviviality.
The festivities open with a moment particularly dear to the community: the procession in honor of Saint Hubert, the patron saint of hunters. The statue of the saint is carried on shoulders from the Club's headquarters through the streets of the Monte Severino area, accompanied by a marching band, civil and military authorities, and a long procession of the faithful. The celebration, followed by mass, renews every year a deep bond between the local hunting community and its religious and popular roots.
The heart of the festival is its gastronomic area, which offers a rich and varied menu focused on game. Visitors can taste specialties based on hare, wild boar, and mutton, prepared according to local traditional recipes passed down among the Club members. These dishes, cooked with care and served in an honest and convivial atmosphere, are the most distinctive element of the event and attract curious foodies from neighboring towns.
Beyond the food, the Hunters' Festival offers a program designed to engage all ages: musical evenings, live performances, entertainment, and games dedicated to children animate the three days until late at night. The simple and well-tested formula makes this event a meeting place for families and the entire community, in a natural setting that makes the experience even more pleasant.
Reaching its fourteenth edition in 2026, the Hunters' Festival has consolidated its success over the years thanks to solid and passionate organization. From a simple gathering of Club members, it has transformed into a true village festival, capable of attracting residents and visitors alike and celebrating, at the start of summer, the rural identity and hunting traditions of the Fiano Romano area.
The 14th edition of the Hunters' Festival was held in Fiano Romano from June 26 to 28, 2026, with stalls opening from 7:00 PM in the Monte Severino grove. The event, organized by the "Le Sasseta" Hunters' Club, was preceded on Saturday, June 20, by the traditional procession in honor of Saint Hubert, the patron saint of hunters.
For three evenings, the gastronomic area offered game-based dishes according to local traditional recipes, accompanied by musical evenings, performances, and entertainment for children. The event was part of the Estate Fianese 2026 calendar, the summer festival promoted by the Municipality of Fiano Romano.
Fiano Romano is located about 40 km north of Rome. By car, it can be reached via the A1 Rome-Florence motorway, Fiano Romano exit, or along the Via Tiberina. The festival takes place in the Monte Severino grove, at the "Le Sasseta" Hunters' Club headquarters.
The event takes place in the evening, with stalls opening from 7:00 PM. Admission to the festival area is free; you pay for what you consume at the food stalls.
We recommend arriving a little early on weekend evenings, when the turnout is higher. Ample parking is available nearby.
