A month of Christmas celebrations in the historic center of Fiano Romano
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Natale Fianese is the flagship Christmas event of Fiano Romano, a charming village in the Tiber Valley just north of Rome. More than just a simple market, it is a comprehensive calendar of events that guides the community from the Feast of the Immaculate Conception to Epiphany. For nearly a month, festivities spread across the historic center, the Orsini Castle, and the town's squares and churches. The event is managed by the Municipality in collaboration with the Pro Loco Association of Fiano Romano and numerous local organizations.
The heart of the festival is the Christmas market, which traditionally fills the historic center around December 8th with stalls offering local crafts, regional products, decorations, and gift ideas. The village streets also host antique markets and exhibitions, particularly in Piazza G. Matteotti, where the official lighting of the Christmas tree marks the start of the holiday season.
The program blends music, entertainment, and family-friendly activities. Previous editions have featured gospel concerts, performances by the Fiano Romano Brass Band, Christmas recitals in local churches, a Santa's Village at the Orsini Castle, and storytelling sessions for children. Visitors can also enjoy free guided tours of the Orsini Castle, the town's iconic landmark, and wandering performances featuring Christmas tales and poetry throughout the village.
Community spirit is a hallmark of Natale Fianese. Alongside creative workshops for children, the event hosts sports tournaments (football, volleyball, mountain biking, archery), free health screenings, events for the elderly, and social awareness initiatives. The calendar concludes, as tradition dictates, with the Befana on January 6th, much to the delight of the little ones.
Located less than an hour from the capital, Natale Fianese offers the intimate atmosphere of a decorated Lazio village, where market stalls and festive lights blend with the history of the Orsini Castle and the warmth of the local community. It is the perfect destination for a family Christmas outing, offering a mix of craftsmanship, traditional flavors, and entertainment in the heart of the Lazio Region.
Natale Fianese 2026 is expected in Fiano Romano during the usual holiday period. At the moment, the Municipality has not yet released official dates or a detailed program for this edition. Based on previous years, the event should span about a month, with the Christmas market in the historic center around December 8th and numerous initiatives leading up to the Befana on January 6th. This page will be updated as soon as the Municipality of Fiano Romano publishes the official calendar.
Fiano Romano is accessible by car via the A1 Rome-Florence motorway (Fiano Romano exit) or the Via Tiberina. By train, the reference station is Rome; from there, regional bus connections (Cotral) are available to reach the village.
