About Hi-Ho Music Festival

In the green heart of the Compitese area, between the hamlets of Pieve and Sant'Andrea di Compito in Capannori (Lucca), the Hi-Ho Music Festival brings live music into the great outdoors. Organized by the Centro Culturale Compitese, the festival showcases emerging Italian talent and local artists using a unique dual-stage format: an intimate setting at the Camellietum at 6 PM and the main stage at 9 PM. Featuring singer-songwriters, jazz, and world music, it is an intimate, high-quality summer event in the renowned Borgo delle Camelie.

A live music festival immersed in the greenery of Compitese

The Hi-Ho Music Festival is a series of summer concerts held in the hamlets of Pieve di Compito and Sant'Andrea di Compito, in the municipality of Capannori, in the province of Lucca, in the heart of Tuscany. Established in 2024 by the Centro Culturale Compitese, the festival has quickly grown into one of the most beloved musical events of the Lucca summer, blending artistic quality with the beauty of a unique natural setting.

The Camellia Village as a stage

The Compitese area is known as the Borgo delle Camelie (Camellia Village) due to its extraordinary tradition of cultivating these flowers, celebrated every spring by the exhibition of ancient camellias of the Lucchesia region. It is precisely in this landscape of camellia groves, olive trees, and historic villas that the Hi-Ho Music Festival finds its home, offering a listening experience in touch with nature, far from the frenzy of large-scale events.

The dual-stage format

The festival's hallmark is the double-bill evening, which takes place across two locations:

  • Camellietum Compitese (via del Cantiere, Sant'Andrea di Compito): the 6 PM musical aperitif, immersed in the camellia garden, often dedicated to acoustic projects, world music, and local talent.
  • Centro Culturale Compitese (via Fonda 1, Pieve di Compito): the 9 PM main stage, hosting the festival's headline acts.

The festival's philosophy is clear: to provide visibility to young talents already active on the national scene and offer space to local artists and their cultural projects, in a dialogue between singer-songwriter music, jazz, and sounds from around the world.

Great music and fine food

Each evening is accompanied by a bar and food area, offering charcuterie boards, vegetarian dishes, and gourmet sandwiches, making the Hi-Ho a convivial occasion as well as a musical one. Many of the concerts are free to attend, while a modest ticket price is required for the most popular events.

An unmissable event in Capannori

With its intimate atmosphere, careful selection of artists, and the natural backdrop of Compitese, the Hi-Ho Music Festival has carved out a special place in the summer calendar of the province of Lucca and Tuscany. It is an opportunity to discover emerging Italian music while exploring an authentic and lesser-known corner of the Lucchesia.
