Sixty years of festivities in Pecco, in the heart of the Valchiusella valley
In 2026, the Associazione Incremento Pecco (AIP) celebrates a major milestone: its sixtieth year of activity. Founded in 1966, the AIP has always been the driving force behind the social life of Pecco, a small village in the municipality of Val di Chy, in the Valchiusella valley, in the province of Turin. Its motto perfectly captures the spirit of these decades: promoting the village since 1966 while ensuring everyone has a great time. For this landmark birthday, the association has planned a widespread festival, filling several July weekends with music and local flavors.
The traditional summer festival in Pecco is one of the most cherished events in the valley. It takes place around the municipal building and the village squares, where volunteers—both young and old—work together to prepare local dishes: the essential grilled pork chops and fried fish are the stars of the evenings, paired with local wines. The musical evenings featuring local bands and orchestras get generations dancing, with a repertoire designed for all ages.
Pecco is one of the villages that, along with Alice Superiore and Lugnacco, formed the municipality of Val di Chy in 2019. We are in the Valchiusella, a valley in the Canavese region known for its stone villages, scenic trails, and strong community identity. In this context, the festivals organized by the AIP are more than just entertainment: they are a way to keep the bond between people and the land alive, a heritage of popular traditions renewed every summer.
Between one evening and the next, the festival offers moments for all ages: community dinners, live music, family entertainment, and gathering spots for the entire valley community. For the 60th anniversary, the association is adding initiatives dedicated to the historical memory of the village and its people. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the authenticity of a small Piedmontese village and the warm hospitality of those who have worked for six decades to keep it thriving.
For the sixtieth anniversary of the Associazione Incremento Pecco, the 2026 summer festival extends over several weekends in July. According to the calendar published by the Municipality of Val di Chy, the events are scheduled for Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5, Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13, 2026, with evening openings starting at 7:00 PM and the entire day of Sunday, July 5 dedicated to the festivities.
The detailed program for each evening (musical bands, menus, and 60th-anniversary initiatives) is published on the official AIP posters and the Municipality of Val di Chy website as the dates approach.
