The Return of the Carnival
In Guglionesi, a village in Lower Molise in the province of Campobasso (Molise), Carnival has returned to celebrate after a three-year absence. A group of local youths, determined to revive a tradition deeply felt by the community, brought back the allegorical float to the streets, with the support of the municipal administration and the "I Cavalieri della Fenice" association.
The Float and the Parade
The star of the show is the allegorical float: not imposing in size, but detailed and scenic, dominated by a large colorful clown. The parade starts from the Dok parking lot and winds through the town's streets to Largo Garibaldi, the heart of the celebration. Along the route and upon arrival, music, masks, and colors engage both young and old.
The Celebration in the Square
In Largo Garibaldi, the day continues with food stalls offering traditional scruppelle (typical fritters), a DJ set, and a small fireworks display organized by the municipal administration. A simple and authentic celebration that reflects the desire for community and renewal in this Molise village.
Guglionesi Carnival — edition 2026
The Guglionesi Carnival 2026 took place on Saturday, February 14th, marking the return of the allegorical float parade after a three-year hiatus. Meeting point at the Dok parking lot at 3 PM, float departure at 3:30 PM through the town streets, and arrival at Largo Garibaldi at 6:30 PM. The float, dominated by a large colorful clown, was built by a group of local youths. In Largo Garibaldi, stalls with scruppelle, DJ set by BlessedNoise, and then Rosolino DJ from 10 PM, supported by the Moto Club I Cavalieri della Fenice and the municipal administration.

How to Get There
Guglionesi (CB) can be reached by car from the Termoli exit of the A14 (approx. 15 km) or via the SS647. The nearest train station is Termoli. The parade starts from the Dok parking lot and ends at Largo Garibaldi.
