The great celebration of charcoal-grilled meats and Murgia flavors in Santeramo in Colle
The Grilled Meat Festival - Aromas and Flavors of the Murgia Hills is the flagship food and wine event in Santeramo in Colle, a town in the Metropolitan City of Bari nestled on the hills of the Alta Murgia, in Apulia. Every year, the festival transforms the historic center into a grand village of taste, where the absolute star is charcoal-grilled meat, cooked according to the best Murgia traditions and served with local specialties.
The heart of the festival lies with the butchers and meat processing workshops of Santeramo, the true protagonists of the event: they fire up their grills along the main squares and streets, offering bombette, sausages, gnumaridd, and the celebrated meats from the Murgia pastures, accompanied by panzerotti, pucce, cheeses, and other local delicacies. The selection of local butchers gives the event a strong sense of identity, tied to the livestock and pastoral heritage of the Murgia Hills.
Alongside the food stalls, the festival offers a rich program of live music in Piazza Garibaldi, featuring concerts by folk groups and local bands, as well as shows, children's entertainment, and a large funfair set up for the occasion. The evenings bring together families, young people, and visitors in a festive atmosphere that enlivens the historic center until late at night.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco "G. Tritto" APS UNPLI together with the Santeramo delegation of Confcommercio Bari, with the patronage of the Municipality of Santeramo in Colle, the Alta Murgia National Park, and the support of the GAL Terre di Murgia. Over the years, the festival has established itself as one of the most popular gastronomic events in the Bari Murgia, drawing visitors from all over Apulia.
Access to the festival area and all scheduled events is free: you only pay for what you consume at the stalls. It is an ideal opportunity to discover Santeramo in Colle, its historic center, and the authentic flavors of the Apulian Alta Murgia.
The 13th edition of the Grilled Meat Festival - Aromas and Flavors of the Murgia Hills will be held from September 11 to 13, 2026, in Santeramo in Colle, in the province of Bari. The event is confirmed as part of the official summer program "Summer in Santeramo in Colle 2026" approved by the municipal administration, taking place between Piazza Garibaldi and Via Roma, in the town center.
For 2026, the festival will once again feature its proven formula: the butchers of Santeramo will fire up their grills along the squares and streets of the center, with charcoal-grilled meat, bombette, sausages, and other specialties from the Murgia Hills, accompanied by food stalls, live music, and a large funfair for families. Admission to the event area will be free.
The detailed program - including concerts, schedules, and participating butchers - will be published by the organizers in the weeks preceding the event.
