In the heart of the Alta Murgia, just a stone's throw from the National Park, the town of Cassano delle Murge (Metropolitan City of Bari, Puglia) hosts one of the region's longest-running and most popular events every summer: La Grande Festa di Pierino, widely known as the Beer Festival. Conceived by Pierino Caponio and his family, the event takes place at the Aia dell'Amicizia in the Cristo Fasano district and is organized by Feste e Sapori Murgiani in collaboration with the Amicizia Agriturismo.
A Full Month of Festivities
The unique feature of this event is its duration: not just a single evening, but a full month of festivities, typically spanning from August to early September. The entertainment changes every night, ensuring that repeat visitors always find something new. The proven formula combines Murgia gastronomy with the great tradition of beer, creating a convivial, family-friendly atmosphere that has gained fame far beyond regional borders over the years.
Music, Beer, and Flavors
The Aia dell'Amicizia stage hosts live concerts, tribute bands, cover bands, DJ sets, and karaoke nights, ranging from rock to Italian pop, and from Latin music to international hits. Alongside the music, visitors will find:

By train: Cassano delle Murge station on the Ferrovie Appulo Lucane line, connected to Bari.
