The National Poetry Theatre Festival, in its first edition, is a tour that crosses Italy with stages in Rome, L'Aquila, Milan, Matera, and Ragusa. The Matera stage brings a language to the City of the Sassi where poetry becomes a show, through voice, word, and live music.

The Choir of Poetesses, Jesters, and Sibyls

In Matera, 'The Choir of Poetesses, Jesters, and Sibyls' is performed, with the participation of poet Davide Rondoni alongside Paola De Crescenzo, Raffaello Simeoni, Eleonora Iacobone, and Elvio Ceci. The show works on a plural and choral dimension, where oral tradition meets contemporary writing, and music supports the memory of the narrative.

As part of the Fantastico Medioevo Festival

The Matera event is part of the Fantastico Medioevo Festival program: the choice of Matera for this show naturally dialogues with an imagined medieval identity and the city's urban heritage. The national tour concludes on October 23rd at the Donnafugata Theatre in Ragusa.
