A green festival in the ancient village of Stabia

The Green Party in the Old Town is an event that, for one evening in early September, breathes life and light back into the historic heart of Castellammare di Stabia, in the province of Naples, Campania. The initiative was born from an idea by the Comitato Borgo Antico di Stabia and transforms Strada del Gesù and the surrounding alleys into a widespread path filled with music, flavors, and sustainability, with main access from Piazza Giovanni XXIII (Piazza Municipio).

Music among arches, staircases, and porticoes

Musical direction is entrusted to the Centro Studi Mousiké Association, which fills the entryways, staircases, and porticoes of historic churches with an elegant and varied sound program: jazz, contemporary music, cinematic atmospheres, and light classical. The notes accompany visitors along the route, while the building courtyards host historical exhibitions that tell the story of the village's identity.

Eco-sustainability and the local area

The central theme of the evening is environmental awareness. Along the route, you will find info points dedicated to waste sorting, eco-sustainability, and local promotion, animated by numerous local associations. Local merchants offer tastings of typical Stabia products, respecting a philosophy focused on reducing waste and plastic.

A network of associations

The Green Party is the result of a broad collaboration that brings together local entities and associations. Partners include By Tourist, Tavole da Palcoscenico Academy, the Lega Navale, AssoDiporto, the Slow Food Stabia-Sorrento-Capri chapter, Ascom, Stabiesi Post Fata Resurgo, PlasticFree, Incrocio delle Idee, Visit Castellammare, and the Antica Necropoli di Stabiae Madonna delle Grazie. As the committee president, Francesco Napolitano, has emphasized, the goal is to involve the community step by step to promote the historic center and spread constructive messages about environmental protection.
