Non-competitive gravel gathering through the Novara hills, second stage of the Gravel Circus
The Gravel dei Colli Novaresi is a non-competitive cycling event held in the territory of Castellazzo Novarese, a small town in the Province of Novara, in Piedmont. The event is designed for gravel bike, mountain bike, and e-bike enthusiasts, born from a desire to showcase the most beautiful and hidden corners of the Novara hills while riding in good company, far from traffic and asphalt.
The course starts in the heart of Cavaglio d'Agogna, where the plains slowly give way to the first Novara hills. After a few kilometers, the route leaves the asphalt to dive into the single tracks that cross the surrounding hills: paths that wind through fields and small woods, with natural curves shaped by the vegetation. From the highest points, panoramic views open up over Monte Fenera and the nearby vineyards, while on clear days, the gaze reaches as far as the Alps.
The organizers offer two tracks designed to accommodate both those looking for a relaxed ride and those wanting to challenge themselves:
As this is a non-competitive gathering, there is no ranking: the goal is sharing, discovering the territory, and the pleasure of being in the saddle.
Gravel dei Colli Novaresi is the second stage of the Gravel Circus, a circuit of non-competitive gravel events crossing the territories of Biella, Novara, Varese, and Vercelli. Established in 2025, the circuit has expanded to seven appointments that, from April to November, invite cyclists to discover unknown corners of the North-West while riding together on the most fun routes. The Novara stage is organized by Freeway Bike ASD, a local cycling group from the Novara area.
Beyond the sport, Gravel dei Colli Novaresi is an opportunity to experience the local area: the day is dedicated to discovering the hilly landscape, good food, and the conviviality typical of these gatherings. The meeting point is at Cascina San Giobbe in Castellazzo Novarese, the start and finish point of the event, where participants gather before and after the ride.
The 2026 edition was held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, and represented the second stage of the Gravel Circus, the non-competitive gravel circuit of the North-West. Organized by Freeway Bike ASD, the day took participants through the Novara hills to discover trails and panoramic views of Monte Fenera.
