The Cheeses of the Grappa Massif
The Grappa Cheeses Exhibition, also known as the Bastardo and Morlacco Show, is held at Malga Campo Croce, below Cima Grappa, in the municipality of Borso del Grappa in the province of Treviso. The stars are Bastardo and Morlacco del Grappa, two excellent cheeses born from an ancient tradition, still carried on with passion today by the malghesi (mountain dairy farmers) of the plateau.
A Competition Among Mountain Dairies
The most anticipated moment of the day is the competition that awards the best cheeses: a true challenge among producers who pass down ancient local traditions and protect biodiversity through the conservation of the mountain environment and livestock farming practices that respect nature's rhythms. The exhibition is a recognition of the hard work of the Grappa mountain dairy farmers.
Tastings at Altitude
Alongside the competition, the day offers tastings of cheeses and mountain dairy products, in an exceptional natural setting amidst the pastures of the Grappa Massif. Organized by A.Pro.La.V., the exhibition is an opportunity to discover the mountain cheesemaking culture of Veneto and the link between alpine pastures, landscape, and gastronomy.
Bastardo and Morlacco Show — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Grappa Cheeses Exhibition confirms the event at Malga Campo Croce, traditionally on the first Sunday in August. The day, organized by A.Pro.La.V., features the competition awarding the best Bastardo and Morlacco cheeses produced by the Grappa mountain dairy farmers, along with tastings and mountain dairy products, in the setting of the pastures below Cima Grappa.
