The Santa Pumpkin takes center stage in Caorera
The Caorera Pumpkin Festival is the autumn event that the hamlet of Caorera, in the municipality of Quero Vas in the province of Belluno, dedicates to its symbolic vegetable: the Bellunese Santa Pumpkin, recognized as a De.Co. (Municipal Designation) product of Veneto and listed in the national register of traditional agri-food products. A festival that every first Sunday of October draws visitors to this corner of Valbelluna, at the foot of Monte Grappa.
The pumpkin in all its forms
The heart of the festival is the food stand, where pumpkin becomes the star of a surprising menu: gnocchi, crepes, lasagna, risotto, and tagliatelle, stewed pumpkin as a side dish, and then bread, cakes, cookies, desserts, ice cream, as well as jams, preserves, pasta sauces, and even pumpkin liqueurs. A true celebration of the versatility of this vegetable.
Contest and market exhibition
Alongside the food, the festival offers a market exhibition of local agricultural products and crafts, and the highly anticipated contest, with prizes for the most original pumpkin shape, artistically crafted pumpkins, the largest pumpkin, the best composition, and the longest pumpkin. There is also musical entertainment, children's games, and the solemn Sunday morning mass.

Organized by Pro Loco Caorera, the event promotes an identity product of the Belluno territory and represents a moment of strong community gathering for the small community of Caorera, amidst flavors, traditions, and conviviality.
Pumpkin Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Caorera Pumpkin Festival is scheduled, as per tradition, for the first Sunday of October, in the hamlet of Caorera in Quero Vas. Pro Loco Caorera will again host the food stand entirely dedicated to the Bellunese Santa Pumpkin De.Co., featuring gnocchi, crepes, risottos, desserts, and pumpkin-based specialties.
Also confirmed are the market exhibition of local agricultural products and crafts, the contest with prizes for the most original, largest, and longest pumpkins, musical entertainment, and children's games. The detailed program and times will be published by Pro Loco Caorera closer to the event.
