About Grape and Ormeasco Festival

On the last weekend of August, Pornassio celebrates its most precious wine, Ormeasco DOC, with the Grape Festival. At the foot of the Castle, in the Villa area, tastings, typical Ligurian dishes, and dancing evenings liven up three days of celebration in the upper Arroscia Valley, in an event that has over half a century of history.

Ormeasco, High-Altitude Wine

In Pornassio, a village in the upper Arroscia Valley in the province of Imperia, the Grape and Ormeasco Festival celebrates the wine that symbolizes the territory: Ormeasco di Pornassio DOC, a high-altitude red that gives identity to the entire area. The event, organized by the Pornassio Pro Loco with the support of the Municipality and the National Association of Wine Cities, takes place at the foot of the Castle, in the Villa locality.

Traditional Wine and Cuisine

For three days, stands offer typical Ligurian traditional dishes paired with Ormeasco DOC wines from local wineries. Among the specialties featured during the festival are Brandacujun and rabbit Ligurian style, authentic highlights of the mountain cuisine of western Liguria.

Music, Culture, and Solidarity

The evenings are marked by DJ sets, dance orchestras, and cultural meetings, with the presence of wine experts and moments dedicated to the territory. Part of the festival's proceeds are traditionally donated to the local public assistance service. A festival that combines enological enhancement with the warmth of a village celebration, in the heart of the Ligurian Alps.

Grape and Ormeasco Festival — edition 2026

The Grape and Ormeasco Festival returns to Pornassio on the last weekend of August 2026, with three days of Ormeasco DOC tastings, typical Ligurian dishes, and dancing evenings at the Castle. The precise dates will be announced by the Pro Loco.

For 2026, the Grape and Ormeasco Festival is expected on the usual last weekend of August, at Pornassio Castle in the Villa locality. The event will again feature Ormeasco DOC tastings, traditional Ligurian dishes (from Brandacujun to rabbit Ligurian style), cultural meetings, and musical evenings with orchestras and DJ sets. The detailed program will be published by the Pro Loco closer to the event.
