Free music and entertainment in Piazza Dante
Every June, the historic center of Grosseto, the capital of the Maremma province in Tuscany, comes alive with Grande Estate, a music and entertainment festival that turns Piazza Dante into a large open-air gathering space. Promoted by the Municipality of Grosseto, the event offers completely free concerts and evening events every night from 9:30 PM to 11:30 PM, in a square capable of hosting thousands of people.
Launched just a few years ago, Grande Estate has quickly become one of the most anticipated events of the city's summer. The secret lies in the combination of an exceptional locationโthe historic Piazza Dante, overlooking the Palazzo della Provincia and just a stone's throw from the Cathedralโand a program that alternates big names in Italian pop music, emerging artists, comedy shows, and themed evenings. Free admission makes the event accessible to families, young people, and tourists, helping to enliven the historic center and its local businesses.
The beating heart of the 2026 edition is the Radiostop Festival, two major evenings bringing a long list of contemporary Italian pop singers to the Piazza Dante stage. The Tuscan radio station Radio Stop joins the festival as an official partner for the first time, giving the evenings the feel of a true celebration of music.
Grande Estate is more than just music: it is also an opportunity to experience the center of Grosseto in the evening, with shops open, lively bars, and the atmosphere of the Maremma in the height of summer. The event is part of the rich calendar of activities that accompanies the city's summer each year, blending culture, entertainment, and social life. For those visiting southern Tuscany, it is the ideal occasion to discover a city often off the main tourist circuits, yet capable of offering vibrant, free evenings.
The fourth edition of Grande Estate confirms its winning formula: ten days of free music and entertainment in Piazza Dante, in the heart of Grosseto. A new feature for 2026 is the partnership with Radio Stop, the official broadcaster of the event, which hosts the two main nights of the Radiostop Festival. The stage will feature a mix of big names in Italian pop music and promising young artists, leading up to the grand finale with Cristina D'Avena. All events are free to attend, from 9:30 PM to 11:30 PM.

The second major night of the Radiostop Festival in Piazza Dante.
Grand finale with the Radiostop Party and a concert by Cristina D'Avena, for an evening dedicated to the theme songs and great hits that have everyone singing along.
All evenings take place from 9:30 PM to 11:30 PM, with free admission until capacity is reached.
Piazza Dante is located in the historic center of Grosseto, within the Medici walls. By train, Grosseto station is served by the Tyrrhenian line (Rome-Pisa-Genoa) and is about a ten-minute walk from the center. By car, Grosseto can be reached via the SS1 Aurelia; paid parking and parking areas are available near the center.
All shows are free to attend, subject to the square's maximum capacity. We recommend arriving early for the most popular concert nights.
The evenings take place outdoors in the city center: it is easy to reach on foot. Take the opportunity to dine at one of the historic center's restaurants before the show.
