A local Carnival in the Susa Valley, featuring masks, confetti, and the Unione Musicale Condovese band.
The Grand Carnival Festival of the Pro Loco of Condove is one of the most cherished events in the winter calendar of Condove, located in the Susa Valley, in the Metropolitan City of Turin (Piedmont). Every year, during the Carnival season, the town center fills with colors, confetti, and masks: the main streets and squares become a large open-air stage where the community gathers to celebrate together.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Condove, a volunteer-run tourism association affiliated with U.N.P.L.I. that has been dedicated to promoting local traditions for decades. This Carnival festival is distinct from the older, more folkloric Carnival of Laietto, a mountain hamlet of the town. This is a community-focused Carnival, designed primarily for families and children, featuring masked parades, pranks, confetti, and plenty of cheer.
The sonic heart of the event is the Unione Musicale Condovese, the town's historic band, which accompanies the masked procession along the streets of the center with a festive repertoire. The collaboration between the Pro Loco and the band is a hallmark of the festival, helping to create that atmosphere of collective participation typical of Piedmontese village Carnivals.
The Grand Carnival Festival is one of the many initiatives through which the Pro Loco of Condove enlivens the town throughout the year, alongside events like the Toma Cheese Fair and the Potato Festival. For those visiting the Susa Valley during the Carnival season, it is an opportunity to discover an authentic, family-friendly tradition, far from the large tourist parades but rich in warmth and local identity.
In February 2026, the Pro Loco of Condove, led by president Paolo Montanaro, organized the Grand Carnival Festival in the town center, in the Susa Valley. The central streets came alive with a procession of masks and creative groups, amidst confetti, pranks, and great enthusiasm, especially among the little ones.
Accompanying the parade was the Unione Musicale Condovese, with a festive repertoire that set the rhythm for the entire event. The event recorded an extraordinary turnout of families and visitors, confirming the Pro Loco's role as a pillar of community life in the Susa Valley.
