The Quattordio stop of the Monferrato food, wine, and cultural festival, featuring street art, nature trails, and local De.Co flavors.
Golosaria in Monferrato is the major food, wine, and cultural festival created by Paolo Massobrio that brings the hills of Piedmontese Monferrato to life every spring. Around forty villages across the Provinces of Alessandria and Asti open their castles, squares, and cellars, creating a "diffused cultural laboratory" where art, history, flavor, and landscape converge. Among these, Quattordio stands out—a small town in the Province of Alessandria that has forged a unique identity through street art.
Quattordio's artistic vocation dates back to 1984, when some of the founding fathers of American graffiti created their works here during an artist residency. Since then, the village has transformed its house walls into an open-air museum. Today, the Quattordio Urban Art trail features over forty works, also documented by the QUA Museum, which houses photos, sketches, memorabilia, and documents chronicling this history. During Golosaria, free guided tours of the murals are among the most popular activities for visitors.
The heart of the event is the table: the Pro Loco Quattordio serves local De.Co dishes—municipal designation products that tell the story of Monferrato's peasant cuisine. Good food, wine, and conviviality complete a day designed for those looking to discover the authentic soul of this corner of Piedmont, far from the beaten tourist paths.
The Quattordio stop is organized by the Municipality of Quattordio in collaboration with the Pro Loco Quattordio, with the patronage of the Province of Alessandria, as part of the broader Golosaria in Monferrato calendar. It is the perfect opportunity to combine a walk through the Monferrato hills, a contemporary art tour, and a traditional lunch.
The 2026 edition of Golosaria in Monferrato takes place over the weekend of May 16-17 in about forty villages across the Monferrato hills, marking the twentieth edition of the festival created by Paolo Massobrio. The Quattordio stop, in the Province of Alessandria, is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, and also celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Pro Loco Quattordio.
The day weaves together urban art, nature, and gastronomy: from the inauguration of the "Quattordio and its hamlets" trail to guided tours of Quattordio Urban Art, and lunch featuring local De.Co dishes.
Quattordio is located in the Province of Alessandria, along the route between Alessandria and Asti. By car, it is accessible from the A21 motorway (Turin-Piacenza) and the state road; the historic center and the street art works are easily explored on foot.
Guided tours of Quattordio Urban Art and entry to the QUA Museum are free. For the walk along the "Quattordio and its hamlets" trail, registration is by voluntary donation, with proceeds going to charity.
Wear comfortable shoes for the walk and the mural tour. Book your De.Co lunch with the Pro Loco to enjoy typical Monferrato dishes.
