Every year, the Golosaria among the Castles of Monferrato festival transforms the hills between the provinces of Asti and Alessandria into a grand itinerary of taste, involving over forty municipalities. Among them is Murisengo Monferrato, a small village in the Casale Monferrato area in the province of Alessandria, which participates in the circuit with its own stage centered in Piazza Boario.

A day between nature and taste

The day in Murisengo combines the discovery of the hilly landscape with the promotion of local products. It starts with a guided nature walk, dedicated to wild and medicinal herbs and the discovery of the olive groves that characterize these hills, with a stop at the Casa Contadina. It then continues in the town center with a rustic musical aperitif, where you can taste cured meats, goat blue cheese, bruschetta, focaccine, extra virgin olive oil, and other short-supply-chain products, accompanied by local wines and cocktails.

The De.Co. of the olive groves

The symbolic heart of the stage is the ceremony for the awarding of the De.Co. (Municipal Designation) to the olive groves of Murisengo. After the hazelnut cake and the goat blue cheese, the Municipality has chosen to recognize local olive growing with this identity mark, an award given to local farms. The De.Co. is a tool used by Italian municipalities to certify and protect typical products linked to their history and traditions.

A village event in the Golosaria circuit

Murisengo Monferrato thus joins the network of villages that, during the Golosaria weekend, open their doors to visitors with tastings, walks, and events spread across the Monferrato hills, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is the ideal opportunity to discover an authentic corner of Piedmont, far from the main tourist flows, where food and wine are a living part of the village's identity.
