Two months of menus dedicated to the white gold of Bassano del Grappa
The White Asparagus of Bassano DOP is one of the most beloved products of the Venetian foothills: tender, sweet, and without bitterness, it grows in the sandy soils around Bassano del Grappa (province of Vicenza) and is harvested by hand. Every spring, it is the star of a long Gastronomic Review involving restaurants in the city and the surrounding area.
Promoted by the Bassanesi Restaurateurs Group of Confcommercio, the review offers dedicated menus featuring white asparagus and a series of gala dinners in participating restaurants, where chefs reinterpret the vegetable according to traditional recipes and creative proposals. The season follows the agricultural calendar, which dictates that asparagus should be on the table from Saint Joseph's Day (March 19) to Saint Anthony's Day (June 13).
In addition to the dishes, the event is an opportunity to discover the food and wine culture of Bassano and the Veneto region, in dialogue with Italian Cuisine, a candidate for UNESCO heritage. It is an eagerly awaited event for enthusiasts and tourists who combine a visit to the city of the Ponte degli Alpini with the discovery of an iconic product.
The 46th edition of the Review was presented on March 18 and officially opened the season on March 19, 2026, in line with the tradition of having the White Asparagus of Bassano DOP on the table from Saint Joseph's Day to Saint Anthony's Day.
Promoted by the Bassanesi Restaurateurs Group of Confcommercio, it offers dedicated menus in restaurants throughout the area and a schedule of ten gala dinners from March 27 to May 22, 2026, where chefs celebrate the vegetable alongside local excellences.
