About Mushroom Festival of San Michele

At the end of September, the San Michele district in Bassano del Grappa celebrates its patron saint with the Mushroom Festival: for a few days, the community gathers around a food stand with dishes based on seasonal porcini mushrooms, mycological and photographic exhibitions, musical evenings with live bands, and activities for families and children. An authentic neighborhood festival, blending devotion, culture, and good food.

The San Michele District Festival

The San Michele district, in Bassano del Grappa (province of Vicenza), annually celebrates its patron saint, Saint Michael the Archangel (September 29th), with the traditional Mushroom Festival. For a few days, the community comes alive with cultural, sporting, musical, and gastronomic events.

The Porcini Mushroom Takes Center Stage

The heart of the festival is the food stand, where visitors can enjoy dishes made with seasonal porcini mushrooms โ€“ first courses, main courses, and side dishes โ€“ alongside other local specialties. Complementing the culinary offerings are the mycological exhibition and photographic competitions and exhibitions held over the weekend.

Music, Sports, and Community

Evenings are accompanied by live bands and moments of conviviality, with areas dedicated to families and children. It is an authentic neighborhood festival, organized by the San Michele District Committee, which intertwines devotion to the patron saint with local culture and the culinary traditions of the Vicenza foothills.
