Castiglion Fiorentino turns into a massive open-air playroom
The Game Festival – Family and Children's Celebration is an event that turns the historic center of Castiglion Fiorentino, in the Province of Arezzo, into a large space dedicated to outdoor fun. For an entire weekend, the central Piazza del Municipio becomes the stage for a nostalgic gaming experience, capable of uniting generations around the simple, timeless pleasure of play.
Promoted by the City of Castiglion Fiorentino in collaboration with the AnimA association, the festival aims to restore the square's historical role as a place for meeting and socializing. Admission is completely free, a deliberate choice by the local administration to ensure every family can participate in this community gathering.
The heart of the event is represented by 40 wooden game stations, unique pieces that test wit, skill, and coordination. These are not just attractions for children: these traditional games manage to captivate parents and grandparents alike, creating an ideal bridge between different ages and bringing the charm of old-fashioned pastimes back to life, away from screens.
In addition to the wooden games, the program offers numerous activities designed for all ages:
The Game Festival is confirmed as one of the most colorful and popular events of the Castiglion spring. The event takes place during a weekend full of initiatives: concurrently, the Amarcord exhibition of crafts and vintage items is set up in the gardens of Piazza Marconi, completing the offer for those who choose to spend the day in the city.
Located along the ancient road connecting Arezzo to Cortona, Castiglion Fiorentino offers visitors the chance to combine the fun of the festival with the discovery of its medieval village, with the famous Torrione del Cassero and the Vasari Loggia framing the square where the event takes place.
The first edition of the Game Festival was held over the weekend of March 28 and 29, 2026, bringing Piazza del Municipio to life starting at 3:00 PM.
