The great summer festival of Galati Mamertino, from sunset until the early hours

In just a few years, the Galatese White Night has become the signature summer event of Galati Mamertino, a village in the Nebrodi Mountains in the province of Messina, Sicily. For one night only, usually in late August, the town stays awake until dawn: Piazza San Giacomo and the streets of the historic center transform into a vast, open-air stage filled with lights, music, flavors, and smiles.
The heart of the event is live music. Over the years, the White Night has hosted local bands, traditional Nebrodi folk groups, and nationally renowned guests, accompanied by a long sequence of DJ sets that keep the square buzzing until late at night. The musical lineup ranges from Sicilian folk to pop, rap, and dance, with moments dedicated to every generation of the audience.
Alongside the concerts, the festival offers a wealth of activities: food stalls and street food featuring typical Nebrodi flavors, local craft and hobbyist booths, and entertainment for children with games, face painting, and shows. It is an evening truly designed for all ages, where the village center becomes one big party area.
A distinctive feature of the Galatese White Night is the evening opening of the town's museums: the Birthplace of poet Nino Ferraรน, the Museum of Peasant and Artisan Life, and the Museum of Ancient Games welcome visitors throughout the evening, blending entertainment with the promotion of Galati's cultural heritage and traditions.
Organized by the Nextgen Galatese cultural association in collaboration with the Municipality of Galati Mamertino, the event is part of the rich calendar of activities in the Rocche del Crasto area and helps promote slow and cultural tourism in this part of the province of Messina.
The dates and program for the 2026 edition of the Galatese White Night have not yet been announced. Based on previous editions, the festival is expected to take place in late August in Galati Mamertino (ME), featuring live music, DJ sets, food stalls, local crafts, and evening museum openings. As soon as the Nextgen Galatese association and the Municipality announce the date and guests for the 2026 edition, this page will be updated.
