ACSI road cycling race in Vespolate, in the Novara plains
The G.P. Garage Olimpia is a staple of the Piedmontese amateur cycling calendar, organized by ASD Ciclistica Tornaco - Team Alcor and held on the roads of Vespolate, in the heart of the Novara plains. The race, part of the ACSI (Association of Culture, Sport, and Leisure) circuit, is open to registered athletes from affiliated organizations and Bike Card holders, representing one of the most anticipated stages for local amateurs.
The competition takes place on a town circuit to be repeated several times, according to the distances set for the different age groups. In recent editions, the meeting point has been at the Pasticceria Millevoglie in Vespolate, with staggered starts in the afternoon: first the youth, women's, and gentleman categories, followed by juniors, seniors, and veterans. The races consist of laps around a flat yet technical loop, typical of the Lower Novara territory.
Vespolate is a small town in the Province of Novara, in Piedmont, nestled in the rice-growing plains that define the Lower Novara area. The flat roads winding between rice paddies, farmhouses, and irrigation canals provide ideal terrain for road cycling, a discipline deeply rooted throughout the province. The event is part of a dense network of amateur races that, from February to November, enliven the villages of the Novara area and Eastern Piedmont.
More than just a competition, the G.P. Garage Olimpia is a celebration for the Vespolate community and the entire local cycling movement. The race involves volunteers, local sponsors, and families along the route, with the final awards ceremony celebrating the winners of each category. It is an opportunity to rediscover a passion for cycling in an authentic and genuine setting, far from the major professional circuits but rich in enthusiasm.
The 2026 edition took place on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in Vespolate (NO), organized by ASD Ciclistica Tornaco - Team Alcor as part of the Acsi Ciclismo Novara circuit. The road race brought together junior, senior, veteran, and gentleman (J - S - V - G) categories on the town circuit.
The overall winner of the race was Gianluca Pullano (Team BCP), who took the top spot in the general classification. The complete rankings were published by Acsi Ciclismo Novara.
Vespolate can be reached by car from the A4 Turin-Milan motorway (Novara exit) by heading south, or via the Novara-Alessandria railway line, stopping at Vespolate station. Novara is approximately 15 km away.
Registration is mandatory online, with an entry fee (typically €18 in recent editions) to be paid at the meeting point. The race is reserved for members of affiliated organizations and ACSI Bike Card holders.
