The classic gravel ride of the Novara area through rice paddies, dirt roads, and the Ticino Park
Every autumn, the small town of Nibbiola, in the province of Novara, transforms into the Italian capital of gravel. Novarenberg is a cycle-touring event that brings hundreds of participants to ride through the rice paddies of the Novara plains, along country dirt roads, and on the edges of the Ticino Park. Organized by the GRAvel lAND collective, it has quickly become one of the most beloved classics in the gravel calendar of Piedmont and all of Northern Italy.
The start is set in Piazza Genestrone, in the heart of Nibbiola. The tracks are designed for every level of fitness, featuring a significant amount of gravel, which is the true heart of the gravel experience:
Gravel bikes, mountain bikes, and e-bikes are all welcome, reflecting the inclusive, non-competitive nature of the event, which is open to men and women of all ages.
Novarenberg is traditionally the final stage of the GRAvel lAND circuit, which brings together various gravel events across Northern Italy between Lombardy and Piedmont. Participants receive a race pack, gadgets, and refreshments along the route, in a festive atmosphere that mirrors the community's motto: pedal, discover, enjoy.
Cycling at Novarenberg means discovering a unique landscape: the vast water-filled expanses of the Novara rice paddies, the riverbanks, the white country roads, and the natural vistas of the Ticino Park. The event thus highlights a corner of Piedmont often far from mass tourism circuits, combining sports activity with the slow discovery of the territory and its local products.
The 2026 Novarenberg is scheduled for Sunday, November 15, 2026 in Nibbiola, in the province of Novara. The event is the final stage of the GRAvel lAND 2026 circuit, which includes six events in Northern Italy.
