The Pentecost gathering of the Magrè Vespa Club, featuring vintage scooters, live music, and South Tyrolean flavors.
The Frühschoppen des Vespa Club Margreid is the most anticipated annual event for the local Vespa enthusiast club, attracting collectors, curious visitors, and families to the center of Magrè sulla strada del vino (known in German as Margreid an der Weinstraße) every year. The event traditionally takes place on Pentecost (Pfingsten), when the South Tyrolean spring is in full bloom and the village, nestled among the vineyards of the Bassa Atesina, provides the backdrop for a popular festival with an unmistakably South Tyrolean flair.
The Vespa Club Margreid was founded in 2006 and today brings together about forty members who collectively maintain a collection of approximately 250 Vespa models, ranging from historic to modern. Throughout the year, the club organizes spring rallies, engine power tests, summer excursions covering over a thousand kilometers, and day trips, but the Pentecost Frühschoppen remains the highlight of the season and the club's calling card to the entire community.
The festival transforms the heart of the village into an open-air gathering accessible to everyone. The typical program includes:
Located in the province of Bolzano, in the Trentino-Alto Adige region, the municipality of Magrè sulla strada del vino is one of the most charming villages along the famous Südtiroler Weinstraße. This bilingual territory, where Italian and German cultures coexist, is renowned for its wines and the landscape of vineyards that gently descend toward the Adige Valley. Participating in the Frühschoppen means not only admiring the Vespas but also discovering the hospitality and convivial traditions of this corner of the Bassa Atesina.
The 2026 Frühschoppen of the Vespa Club Margreid was held on Sunday, May 24, 2026, the day of Pentecost, and represented a special edition: the club celebrated its 20 years of activity (2006-2026).
The musical program featured the live band The Snoops, accompanied by a DJ to soundtrack the entire day of celebration. There was also the traditional exhibition of vintage Vespas, a food stand with South Tyrolean specialties, games for children, and the usual spare parts market for enthusiasts in the heart of the village in the province of Bolzano.
The event takes place in the center of Magrè sulla strada del vino (Margreid an der Weinstraße), in the province of Bolzano, traditionally near the Alois Lageder Winery area and the village streets.
Every year on the occasion of Pentecost (late May/early June), generally from morning until evening.
By car via the A22 Brenner motorway (Egna/Ora or Salorno exits) and the Wine Road; the nearest train station is Egna-Termeno on the Brenner line.
The event is held outdoors and is free to attend.
