The Ciociaria capital's white night: six stages, live music, and street food until dawn
Nessun Dorma is the white night of Frosinone, the capital of the province of the same name in the heart of Ciociaria, in southern Lazio. Promoted by the municipal administration as a summer kickoff festival, the event takes over the city's main streets and squares for an entire evening—and much of the night—keeping the city buzzing well past midnight. The title, borrowed from the famous Puccini aria, says it all: that night, in Frosinone, nobody sleeps.
The format features six stages set up in key urban meeting points to distribute the crowd and engage both the upper and lower parts of the city. The locations are:
Along Corso della Repubblica, closed to traffic and parking between Piazzale Vittorio Veneto and Largo Giovanni Amendola, you will find entertainment areas and food stalls that connect the various stages.
The event is defined by popular live music, featuring tribute bands dedicated to the biggest names in Italian and international music. Recent editions have included tributes to Muse and Coldplay, as well as Vasco Rossi, Ligabue, Renato Zero, Claudio Baglioni, and Cesare Cremonini. Alongside the tributes, the schedule always includes lighter, cross-generational fun: shows dedicated to cartoon theme songs, which delight both children and parents, and 80s, 90s, and 2000s revivals that keep the squares dancing until late at night.
At midnight, the heart of the festival shifts to Piazzale dello Scalo, where the Stereo 90 dance format hosted by Lele Sarallo takes the stage: it is the most youthful moment of the evening, extending the white night almost until dawn.
Nessun Dorma is not just a concert lineup. The formula blends art, culture, sports, street food, and entertainment, with a special focus on cultural offerings: during the white night, municipal museums remain open for an extraordinary free session, typically from 8 PM to midnight. It is a unique opportunity to visit the city's collections at night, perhaps while strolling between stages. To facilitate movement between the different areas—which cover a significant elevation change between upper and lower Frosinone—the Municipality provides a free shuttle service.
The white night is historically one of the most attended events in the Frosinone calendar, and its return after several years of absence has been welcomed as a sign of vitality for the city center and local businesses. The formula works precisely because it is simple: free entry everywhere, recognizable music, street food, and a city that changes its rhythm for one night. It is no coincidence that the format changes its name from edition to edition, while remaining faithful to the core idea of a large, widespread urban festival.
Visitors from out of town can take advantage of the evening to discover the capital of Ciociaria: the upper town with Piazza Norberto Turriziani and the historic center, the Belvedere overlooking the Sacco Valley, the Teatro Nestor, and the civic museums. All around, the province of Frosinone offers some of the most beautiful destinations in southern Lazio—from the Abbey of Casamari to the Charterhouse of Trisulti, and from Anagni to Alatri with its cyclopean walls.
The 2026 edition of the Frosinone white night was held on Monday, June 1, 2026, starting at 8:30 PM with programming until late at night. The municipal administration chose the six-stage format to involve the entire city, from the upper to the lower part, bringing together live music, art, culture, sports, and street food.
The locations were set up at Piazzale De Matthaeis, on Via Aldo Moro in front of Palazzo Magnolia, on Via Aldo Moro near the Sports Field, in Piazza Norberto Turriziani, at Piazzale Vittorio Veneto, and at Piazzale dello Scalo. Along Corso della Repubblica, closed to traffic and parking from 6 PM between Piazzale Vittorio Veneto and Largo Giovanni Amendola, entertainment areas and food stalls were concentrated.
The grand finale, at midnight at Piazzale dello Scalo, was entrusted to the Stereo 90 dance format hosted by Lele Sarallo, which kept the party going until late at night.
Tribute bands dedicated to the greatest names in Italian and international music: Muse, Coldplay, Vasco Rossi, Ligabue, Renato Zero, Claudio Baglioni, and Cesare Cremonini. Also on the program are shows dedicated to cartoon theme songs and 80s, 90s, and 2000s revival hits.
At Piazzale dello Scalo, Stereo 90 dance format hosted by Lele Sarallo, until late at night.
Along Corso della Repubblica, entertainment areas and street food stalls throughout the evening.
Extraordinary and free opening of municipal museums from 8 PM to midnight.
One evening at the beginning of summer, usually in the first week of June, from 8:30 PM until late at night.
Free entry to all stages and entertainment areas. Free access to municipal museums from 8 PM to midnight.
By car: A1 Milan–Naples motorway, Frosinone exit, then the expressway towards the center. Note: Corso della Repubblica is closed to traffic and parking from 6 PM in the section between Piazzale Vittorio Veneto and Largo Giovanni Amendola. It is advisable to leave your car in peripheral parking lots.
By train: Frosinone station on the Rome–Cassino–Naples line; the Piazzale dello Scalo, which hosts the grand finale, is located right in the station area.
During the event, a free shuttle service operates between the different areas, useful for overcoming the elevation difference between upper and lower Frosinone.
A mayoral ordinance prohibits the takeaway sale and public consumption of beverages in glass containers and cans from 8 PM until 6 AM the following morning. Fines range from 25 to 500 euros.
Wear comfortable shoes: the six stages are far apart, and the walk along the Corso is part of the experience. The street food areas are very busy in the early hours of the evening.
