About From Story to Story

In Bagnacavallo, in the heart of Bassa Romagna, "Di storia in storia" is the traveling festival designed for children and their families. For four days, the city transforms into a large, widespread play area: parks, squares, nature oases, libraries, and courtyards host creative workshops, animated readings, puppet shows, outdoor escape rooms, cooking activities, and moments dedicated to nature. A free and participatory event that combines play, environment, and Romagna tradition, involving schools, associations, and local volunteers.

A Widespread Festival for Children in Bagnacavallo

"Di storia in storia – festival itinerante per bambine e bambini" is the event that every year transforms Bagnacavallo, in the province of Ravenna, into a large open-air wonderland. Promoted by the Comunicando Association on behalf of the Municipality of Bagnacavallo, in collaboration with the Berti comprehensive institute, local associations, and many volunteers, the festival offers a widespread and varied program, designed specifically for children and their families.

The formula is that of itinerancy: for four days, initiatives move between the most beautiful and significant places in the center and the territory, from historic squares to public parks, from libraries to nature oases. Not a single stage, but an entire city that becomes a space for play, discovery, and social interaction.

Games, Nature, and Romagna Tradition

The heart of the festival is the encounter between three dimensions: play, with creative workshops, recreational activities, and traditional games; nature, experienced up close at Podere Pantaleone and in the local oases, with excursions, workshops on bees and wildlife; and Romagna tradition, from the dialect to typical flavors like strozzapreti prepared with local chefs.

  • Creative, artistic, and musical workshops for all ages
  • Animated readings and storytelling in cloisters and libraries
  • Street theater, puppet theater, and marionette shows
  • Outdoor escape rooms and treasure hunts for older children
  • Cooking activities, from handmade pasta workshops to strozzapreti
  • Nature experiences: fireflies, bees, trees, and local wildlife

A City That Plays Together

"Di storia in storia" is above all a community project: schools, volunteer associations, merchants, and cultural realities of Bagnacavallo and Bassa Romagna make it possible. Events such as the "Città dei bambini" (Children's City), the urban picnic, and the final collective dinner emphasize the participatory and inclusive nature of the event, where families and residents share spaces and free time.

Participation in the initiatives is free: only some workshops, particularly cooking and manual activities, and those with limited capacity, require booking. An event that, in the Emilia-Romagna calendar, has carved out a precious space among events dedicated to childhood, capable of combining fun, environmental education, and rediscovery of local traditions.
