The white night of the Balcony of Romagna, between music, flavors, and wine
Fricò Royal is the grand white night of Bertinoro, the village nicknamed the Balcony of Romagna for the view that opens up from its hill, in the heart of the province of Forlì-Cesena, in Emilia-Romagna. For one summer evening, the historic center transforms into a large open-air stage, where music, art, flavors, and hospitality blend until three in the morning.
The shows are spread across the five historic locations of the village, which become as many stages: Piazzetta Guido del Duca, the Terrazza Mirastelle, Piazza della Libertà, the Giardini Novelli, and the Giardini della Rocca. Strolling through the alleys, you can move from a folk concert to a DJ set, from reggae sounds to jazz influences, in a musical journey that forms the pulsating heart of the evening.
In addition to music, Fricò Royal is also a celebration of taste: the name itself recalls the Romagnola gastronomic tradition. Along the streets of the center, you will find markets, art workshops, food stands, and the village's local establishments, where you can taste typical dishes accompanied by wines from the Bertinoro hills, a land of Sangiovese and Albana.
Organized by the Municipality of Bertinoro, Fricò Royal has become over the years the symbolic event of the summer on the Balcony of Romagna, capable of attracting thousands of visitors to the hill. Access to the village during the evening is regulated by a symbolic contribution, with free entry for children and residents, and a convenient shuttle service from the parking lots below. It is the ideal opportunity to discover Bertinoro, its venues, and its atmosphere, dancing under the Romagna stars.
The official date for the next edition of Fricò Royal is confirmed by the Visit Bertinoro website: Friday, July 10, 2026. As every year, the historic center will transform into a large open-air stage, with musical performances spread across Piazzetta Guido del Duca, Terrazza Mirastelle, Piazza della Libertà, Giardini Novelli, and Giardini della Rocca, accompanied by markets, food stands, and the wines of the Bertinoro hills.
The detailed program — line-up of concerts, DJ sets, times, and admission fees — has not yet been published and will be communicated by the Municipality of Bertinoro closer to the event.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition (concerts, DJ sets, times, and locations) has not yet been published. It will be announced by the Municipality of Bertinoro in the weeks preceding the evening.
Based on previous editions, the structure includes simultaneous musical performances in the five locations of the historic center (Piazzetta Guido del Duca, Terrazza Mirastelle, Piazza della Libertà, Giardini Novelli, and Giardini della Rocca), with a program alternating folk, dance, rock, reggae, and jazz sounds, from 8:00 PM to 3:00 AM, as well as markets, workshops, and food stands.
Bertinoro can be reached by car from the Via Emilia (SS9) and the A14 motorway (Cesena or Forlì exit); the nearest train station is Forlimpopoli-Bertinoro on the Bologna-Rimini line.
During the white night, entry to the historic center is subject to a fee (symbolic contribution, free for residents and children under 12). A free shuttle bus service is available from the parking lots in Via Badia and Ospedaletto, with departures every 15 minutes.
Wear comfortable shoes for the uphill alleys of the village and book tables at the central restaurants well in advance, as they are highly sought after during the event.
