Fratt'na Corsa is the historic road race of Frattamaggiore, a town in the Province of Naples, Campania. Originally established as a 10-kilometer street race, it has evolved over the years into one of the most cherished fixtures on the regional running calendar, drawing hundreds of runners from across the region. Organized by Podistica Frattese, the event traditionally takes place on a Sunday in May, bringing the town center to life with competitive athletes, amateurs, and enthusiasts alike.

Beyond competition: health and prevention

What sets Fratt'na Corsa apart is more than just its sporting appeal. A comprehensive program focused on health and prevention revolves around the race, making the event a significant social milestone for the Frattamaggiore community. The cornerstone of this initiative is the Fratta in Rosa walk, a non-competitive stroll open to everyone, designed to promote women's health and cancer awareness. The initiative is dedicated to the memory of Eva Schioppa, the walk's founder.

Fratt'na Prevenzione: free screenings

Alongside the race and the walk, the event features Fratt'na Prevenzione, offering free cancer screenings to citizens. Recent editions have provided services such as breast ultrasounds, Pap tests, HPV tests, and fecal occult blood test kits, thanks to a collaboration with the ASL Napoli 2 Nord health authority. Bookings are handled during the event at the dedicated hub in Piazza Umberto I, near the Town Hall.

Fratt'na Corsa is the result of a collaborative effort by numerous local entities. In addition to Podistica Frattese, the event is supported by the Istituto di Studi Atellani, the Lions Club Frattamaggiore, the Rotary Frattamaggiore Afragola, and the ASL Napoli 2 Nord, with the backing of the Municipality of Frattamaggiore. This synergy transforms a simple race into a true community festival, where sport becomes a tool for social cohesion, solidarity, and health awareness.
