This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Fratt'na Corsa is the historic road race of Frattamaggiore, a town in the Province of Naples, Campania. Originally established as a 10-kilometer street race, it has evolved over the years into one of the most cherished fixtures on the regional running calendar, drawing hundreds of runners from across the region. Organized by Podistica Frattese, the event traditionally takes place on a Sunday in May, bringing the town center to life with competitive athletes, amateurs, and enthusiasts alike.
What sets Fratt'na Corsa apart is more than just its sporting appeal. A comprehensive program focused on health and prevention revolves around the race, making the event a significant social milestone for the Frattamaggiore community. The cornerstone of this initiative is the Fratta in Rosa walk, a non-competitive stroll open to everyone, designed to promote women's health and cancer awareness. The initiative is dedicated to the memory of Eva Schioppa, the walk's founder.
Alongside the race and the walk, the event features Fratt'na Prevenzione, offering free cancer screenings to citizens. Recent editions have provided services such as breast ultrasounds, Pap tests, HPV tests, and fecal occult blood test kits, thanks to a collaboration with the ASL Napoli 2 Nord health authority. Bookings are handled during the event at the dedicated hub in Piazza Umberto I, near the Town Hall.
Fratt'na Corsa is the result of a collaborative effort by numerous local entities. In addition to Podistica Frattese, the event is supported by the Istituto di Studi Atellani, the Lions Club Frattamaggiore, the Rotary Frattamaggiore Afragola, and the ASL Napoli 2 Nord, with the backing of the Municipality of Frattamaggiore. This synergy transforms a simple race into a true community festival, where sport becomes a tool for social cohesion, solidarity, and health awareness.
With its dual focus on competition and charity, Fratt'na Corsa is a flagship of local sport and a benchmark for running in Campania. Those tackling the 10 km course enjoy a popular, well-supported urban route, while those participating in the Fratta in Rosa walk share a powerful message of health and prevention. It is a day when Frattamaggiore rallies around the values of sport, wellness, and caring for others.
The new edition of Fratt'na Corsa is expected in Frattamaggiore, in the Province of Naples, presumably in May as per tradition. The two souls of the event are confirmed: the 10 km competitive race and the non-competitive Fratta in Rosa walk, dedicated to women's health and cancer prevention, alongside the free screening area. The official date and detailed program will be announced by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
Frattamaggiore is located in the northern area of the Province of Naples and is well-connected to the regional capital. By car, it can be reached via the Asse Mediano and the Circumvallazione Esterna; by train, the Frattamaggiore-Grumo Nevano station is served by regional lines. Bus and rail connections are available from Naples.
The 10 km competitive race requires registration in accordance with the current FIDAL regulations; the non-competitive Fratta in Rosa walk is open to everyone. The meeting point and all side activities are centered in Piazza Umberto I.
