Organized by the Filarmonica Pietro Mascagni in collaboration with the local municipal administration, the festival transforms the squares of the historic center into open-air stages for a week, offering a concert every evening with completely free admission.

The format is that of a grand village festival: each evening takes place in a different square, from Piazza Nencetti to Piazza Fra' Benedetto, and from Piazza Matteotti to Piazza Padella in the hamlet of Pozzo della Chiana. Performers include local bands, philharmonic orchestras, and ensembles from across the Valdichiana and neighboring Umbria, as well as quartets, chamber groups, and students from local music schools. The program ranges from classic band repertoire to the music of composers like Astor Piazzolla, and from pop music to famous film scores, creating a sonic kaleidoscope designed to engage audiences of all ages.
