Half a century of colours, scents, and joy in Primulacco
In Primulacco, a hamlet in the municipality of Povoletto in the hilly Friuli region, the Flower Festival is an institution: born in 1975, it has reached its half-century milestone and remains one of the reference floral and horticultural events in the entire region. Organised with passion by Pro Loco Primulacco, in collaboration with the Municipality of Povoletto, the festival combines a passion for flowers and greenery with a grand popular celebration.
The heart of the event is the large floral and horticultural market, open on all days of the festival and also on weekdays, where nurserymen and exhibitors offer plants, flowers, and garden products. A prestigious moment is the Floral Arrangement Competition, now in its 31st edition in 2026, which showcases the creativity and artistry of floral designers.
In the evenings, Primulacco comes alive with orchestras and dancing nights, concerts, Caribbean dances, and the unmissable funfair. The programme is very rich: from the 'Tour of Flowers' tractor rally to the Vespa parade, from art exhibitions to tournaments, from fishing to competitions, all accompanied by the food stall with grilled meats, cold beer, and good wine.
With orchestras like Caramel, Orchestra Novanta, Livio e Francesco Band, and Rossella Ferrari e i Casanova, the Flower Festival is the classic May event in Friuli: an event that blends art, music, folklore, and gastronomy, capable of attracting visitors from all over Friuli to Primulacco to experience the arrival of the warmer season together.
The fifty-first edition of the Flower Festival confirms the tried-and-tested formula: a floral and horticultural market open every day, a floral arrangement competition, dancing nights with orchestras, a funfair, a tractor rally, and food stalls.
The festival spans two weekends in May. Among the main events: the floral and horticultural market open daily; the 31st Floral Arrangement Competition; dancing nights with orchestras such as Caramel, Orchestra Novanta, Livio e Francesco Band, and Rossella Ferrari e i Casanova; the 'Tour of Flowers' tractor rally; the Vespa parade; art exhibitions and tournaments; the funfair and the food stall with grilled meats and Friulian specialties. The detailed day-by-day program is published on www.festadeifiori.com.
