Flower and plant market and Piedmont Honey Salon in Moncalieri
Every spring, the historic center of Moncalieri, in the Province of Turin, dresses up in flowers and scents for Florì and Miel'é, two twin events sharing the same weekend in April. Promoted by the Municipality of Moncalieri together with Orticola Piemonte and with the participation of Slow Food, the two festivals offer a weekend entirely dedicated to nature, greenery, and the agri-food excellence of the Piedmont region.
The heart of the event is Florì, the flower and plant market set up in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, in the center of Moncalieri. About twenty exhibitors, including nurserymen, artisans, and local farmers from the surrounding hills, bring the square to life with an explosion of colors and scents. Among the stalls, you will find:
There is no shortage of expert advice for DIY gardening and proper plant care, in a convivial atmosphere that invites you to stroll and discover.
A few steps from the square, in the historic spaces of the Real Collegio Carlo Alberto, Miel'é comes to life, the first salon entirely dedicated to honey from Piedmont. About thirty beekeepers and producers present monofloral and wildflower honeys, from chestnut to acacia and high-mountain wildflower, alongside pure beeswax candles, natural cosmetics, and sustainable products. The experience is enriched by a farmers' market with numerous stalls featuring local specialties.
The program includes guided tastings that pair honey with lard, cheeses, bread, butter, focaccia, candies, yogurt, and ice cream, as well as meetings with experts on gastronomy, health, science, and the world of bees. A sensory experience that tells the story of regional biodiversity and beekeeping culture.
With free admission to Florì and an accessible tasting tour at Miel'é, the event is designed for families, gardening enthusiasts, and the curious. Strolling through the flowery stalls of the square and then crossing the threshold of the Real Collegio to discover the flavors of honey is the best way to experience spring in Moncalieri, one of the most vibrant locations in the Turin metropolitan area, in the heart of Piedmont.
Florì takes place in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, in Moncalieri (TO); Miel'é is hosted at the Real Collegio Carlo Alberto, at Via Real Collegio 30. The two locations are just a few minutes' walk apart.
Moncalieri is easily reachable from Turin by train (Moncalieri station) and via GTT public transport. By car, take the Moncalieri ring road exit; parking is available near the historic center.
Florì: free admission, approximately from 9:30/10:00 AM to 6:00/7:00 PM. Miel'é: paid admission (around 12 euros) with a tasting tour included. Please check updated hours and prices on the official channels.
