Music, shows, and street food on the shores of Lake Bilancino
The Flood Bilancino Festival is one of the most anticipated summer events in the Mugello, the hilly region north of Florence. It is hosted at the Andolaccio Event Area, overlooking Lake Bilancino, the large artificial reservoir that has become the primary destination for swimming and recreation in the Florentine hinterland. Here, for four days in July, the Municipality of Barberino di Mugello (in the province of Florence) hosts a widespread festival that blends music, theater, sports, wellness, and great food.
According to the organizers, the Flood festival is built around three main areas that coexist in the same space:
The strength of the Flood festival lies in its inclusive nature: it is designed to be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of age or taste. Families can find children's shows and daytime activities, young people can enjoy concerts and evening DJ sets, and sports and nature enthusiasts can take part in the Flood Experience. Access to the Flood Experience activities is free, while a symbolic contribution is requested for the performance area.
Organized by the Pro Loco for Barberino in collaboration with the Municipality and the artistic direction of Catalyst, the festival is also an opportunity to discover the Mugello, a land of villages, tradition, and nature just a few kilometers from Florence. The backdrop of Lake Bilancino, with its sunsets over the water, makes this experience unique in the landscape of Tuscan summer festivals.
The eighth edition of the Flood Bilancino Festival will be held from July 16th to 19th, 2026 at the Andolaccio Area, on the shores of Lake Bilancino in Barberino di Mugello.
The established formula is confirmed: live concerts with artists from the national music scene, circus-theater and cabaret shows for families, DJ sets until dawn, and over 20 food trucks with specialties from around the world, gourmet fusion, vegan, and kid-friendly options. The Flood Experience 2026 activities also return, both day and night, to experience the Tuscan lake to the fullest. The 2026 edition adopts the color lavender as its theme, with the slogan #LavenderIsTheColor2026.
The detailed program, including artist names and evening schedules, will be announced by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event on the official channels of the Pro Loco for Barberino.

The festival's usual structure includes:
The Andolaccio Event Area is located on Via del Lago in Barberino di Mugello (FI), on the shores of Lake Bilancino. By car, the Barberino di Mugello exit on the A1 motorway is in the immediate vicinity; the area is also accessible via the SS65 Futa state road. A parking area is available near the lake.
Flood Experience activities are free and open to everyone. A symbolic contribution is required for the performance area (4 euros in the previous edition). Evenings typically begin in the late afternoon and continue late into the night with DJ sets.
Bring comfortable clothing for outdoor activities and take advantage of the day for a walk or a swim in Lake Bilancino. For program updates, check the festival's official social media channels.
