The Festival of the Valcanale Volunteers

Some festivals are born from a sense of community and the desire to give something back to one's town. Pompieri in Festa is one of them: organized by the volunteer firefighters of Camporosso and Tarvisio in Camporosso in Valcanale, a hamlet of the Municipality of Tarvisio, for three days in early June dedicated to good food, music, and fun for all ages.

A Young but Already Beloved Tradition

The event is one of the more recent additions to the Valcanale calendar, but in just a few editions, it has already become a highly anticipated appointment. In Camporosso, traditions are kept alive by an active community—from the Unione Sportiva to the Pro Loco "Il Tiglio," from the Volunteer Firefighters Corps to the parish—and this festival is one of its most genuine expressions.

What to Eat and Experience

The heart of the festival is the food, with specialties that evoke the mountains and conviviality:

• Arrosticini (lamb skewers), pork barbecues, frico (cheese and potato pancake), polenta, hamburgers, and fries
• Traditional Schnops tournaments
• Musical evenings with live bands and DJ sets
• Games and activities for children with the firefighters
• Demonstration of the historic fire pump (Idrofor)
