About Accordion Festival

The Campitello di Fassa stop of the Fiemme and Fassa Accordion Festival, the major Valli dell'Avisio touring event that brings the accordion to squares and theaters across Trentino every July with dozens of free concerts. Set beneath the Dolomites of Val di Fassa, the Ischia Event Pavilion hosts an evening of alpine and concert music, blending Ladin tradition, virtuosity, and mountain melodies, just steps from the Col Rodella cable car.

The Accordion Festival in the Valli dell'Avisio

The Fiemme and Fassa Accordion Festival, also known as the Valli dell'Avisio Accordion Festival, is one of the most distinctive summer musical events in Trentino-Alto Adige. Established in 2014 and organized by the Pro Loco of Castello-Molina di Fiemme APS, the festival is a touring event that spends ten days in July traveling through the squares, theaters, and pavilions of the Avisio valleys, showcasing the accordion in all its forms: from alpine folk music to classical and concert repertoire, including tango, jazz, and world music.

The festival brings together international performers, young world-champion accordionists, and local ensembles, with a program that has expanded over the years far beyond the Fiemme, Fassa, and Cembra valleys to include the Piana Rotaliana, the Vigolana Plateau, the Vallagarina, and the Mocheni Valley. All concerts are free of charge.

The Campitello di Fassa stage

In the Municipality of Campitello di Fassa, in the province of Trento, the festival stage is held at the Ischia Event Pavilion, just a short walk from the 3S Col Rodella cable car, in one of the most picturesque locations in Val di Fassa, at the foot of the Sassolungo group. Immersed in the Dolomite landscape, the Campitello evening combines the intimate atmosphere of a night concert with the charm of the mountains, offering residents and summer vacationers a high-quality, free musical event.

Alpine music and Ladin heritage

The Campitello program particularly highlights the connection to the local area and the Ladin musical heritage of Val di Fassa. Alongside the chromatic accordion, the star is often the Steirische Harmonika, the diatonic accordion of alpine traditions, which weaves together melodies inspired by the mountains, folk songs, and original compositions. Each edition features a different performer, renewing the repertoire and blending tradition with more contemporary styles.

A widespread and free festival

The Valli dell'Avisio Accordion Festival stands out for its widespread and popular nature: bringing great music to where people live, in town squares and pavilions, involving mountain communities, Pro Loco associations, and local cultural entities. The collaboration between multiple associations and institutions allows for dozens of free concerts every year, confirming the festival as one of the most beloved summer events in Trentino.
