Mùsega Auta Fascia Concert

A summer highlight in the heart of Val di Fassa

The Mùsega Auta Fascia Concert is one of the most cherished musical events of the summer in Mazzin, a small Ladin village in the Val di Fassa, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). The star of the show is the Mùsega Auta Fascia, the band that brings together musicians from the three municipalities of the upper valley: Mazzin, Campitello di Fassa, and Canazei.

The evening begins with the band's signature parade through the village streets: the musicians in uniform, accompanied by vivandières in traditional Ladin costumes, march to the Piaz de Sènta Maria Madalena, the main square of Mazzin, where the open-air concert takes place.

The band of the upper valley

The Mùsega Auta Fascia in its current form was established in 2006, carrying on the legacy of historic local bands such as the Antermoia Band, which was active in Mazzin during the 1950s. Led by conductor Fabio Riz, the band has performed hundreds of concerts, not only in the valley but also atop the Marmolada, at Sass Pordoi, and even at the Oktoberfest in Munich.

The vivandières in traditional dress, who have joined the band since 2010, add a scenic touch and connect the event to the Ladin cultural identity of Val di Fassa.

Admission is free. In case of bad weather, the concert will be moved indoors to the PalaDolomites in Campestrin. It is a simple and authentic way to experience the village atmosphere of Val di Fassa on summer evenings, with live music and the Dolomites as a backdrop.
