About Festival of the Wind
Spotorno's Sky Fills with Colour
The Festival of the Wind is the event that, every spring, kicks off the season in Spotorno, a seaside resort in the province of Savona. The stars of the show are the kites, which transform the seafront sky into a spectacle of shapes and colours, with displays by artists and pilots from all over Italy and abroad.
Displays, Flights, and Workshops
Between Piazza della Vittoria and Lungomare Kennedy, there are displays of acrobatic and static kites, free flights, and demonstrations. On the beach, there's a free workshop for children to build their own kite, while a photographic exhibition is set up at the Casa del Turismo. The programme also includes an evening show in Piazza della Vittoria.
An Event for the Community and Tourists
Organised by the Municipality of Spotorno, the festival is free to enter and represents an important initiative for off-season tourism promotion, capable of attracting families and enthusiasts to the Savona coastline. An original and festive way to welcome spring on the Riviera delle Palme.
Festival of the Wind — edition 2026
The 25th edition of the Festival of the Wind was held on March 7-8, 2026, opening Spotorno's event season. The seafront and Piazza della Vittoria hosted spectacular displays of static and acrobatic kites from all over Italy and abroad.
Among the activities were the free kite-building workshop for children on the beach, the photographic exhibition at the Casa del Turismo, and an evening show in Piazza della Vittoria. The event, organised by the Municipality of Spotorno, was free to enter.

Spotorno is served by the train station on the Genoa-Ventimiglia line and by the A10 motorway (Spotorno-Noli exit). The festival areas are on the seafront.
