The Assumption, patron saint of Lozio
The Patronal Feast of Saint Mary of the Assumption is the most important event for the community of Lozio, a small municipality in Valle Camonica, in the province of Brescia. The patron saint, Mary Most Holy Assumed, is celebrated on August 15th, Ferragosto day, in one of the hamlets of the town, traditionally Laveno di Lozio.
Faith and tradition
The patronal day combines the religious dimension — with celebrations dedicated to the Assumption — with the convivial aspect, typical of Camun village festivals. Around the church, the community gathers to share moments of celebration, in a blend of devotion and tradition that has always characterized the Lozio Ferragosto.

There is no shortage of good food: for lunch, spit-roasted meat with polenta, and for dinner, casoncelli, the typical ravioli of the area, accompanied by an evening of music and activities for children, such as face painting, as well as the traditional lottery.
