Red Chicory Takes Center Stage in Mirano
The Festival of Red Chicory of Treviso IGP and Flavors of Venetian Tradition celebrates one of Veneto's fruit and vegetable excellences in Mirano, in the province of Venice. In Piazza Martiri della Libertà, about forty local growers display their chicory around the oval of the square, in a market exhibition that promotes the IGP-certified product.
Gastronomy and Tradition
The heart of the festival is the food stand, offering chicory risotto, musetto, sausage, and hot drinks, alongside stands for local food and wine products and cheese-making demonstrations by Coldiretti. The day also includes a free guided tour of the farm at the "8 Marzo – K. Lorenz" Institute, to discover the chicory production cycle.
A Celebration of the Agricultural Community
The event is organized by Pro Loco Mirano APS in collaboration with the Municipality, agricultural associations (CIA, Coldiretti, Confagricoltura), La Strada del Radicchio, and the local school institute. An exhibition of school work, educational stands, and folk music complete the offerings.

- 11:15 AM — Official opening with authorities and award ceremony for the drawing contest

How to Get There
Mirano (VE) is reachable by car from the A4 motorway (Dolo-Mirano exit) and by bus from intercity lines from Venice and Padua. The festival takes place in Piazza Martiri della Libertà, in the historic center.
Opening Hours
The day opens at 9 am with registration for the guided tour and continues until the afternoon, with the food stand opening at noon and music in the afternoon.
