The sardine festival
The Festa dea Sardea is the sagra (traditional festival) of Robegano, a hamlet of the Municipality of Salzano, in the metropolitan city of Venice. The name, in Venetian dialect, refers to the sardine: the humble fish that is the absolute star of the event, prepared according to lagoon tradition recipes.
Sardines in a thousand ways
The cooks of the Robeganese group offer sardines grilled, fried, or in the classic saòr, the ancient Venetian preparation based on onions, vinegar, raisins, and pine nuts. Alongside the signature dish, the stand offers grilled cuttlefish, unmissable fried fish, and mixed seafood grills, in a menu that tells the story of Veneto's relationship with the sea.

The festival is held in the marquee in via Mameli, in the Stadium area of Robegano, and takes place over several weekends between late August and mid-September, with dancing evenings, live music, and moments of conviviality for families.

The 2026 edition of the Festa dea Sardea returns to Robegano di Salzano, under the marquee on via Mameli in the Stadium area. The event, organized by the Robeganese group, takes place over several weekends between late August and mid-September.
In the kitchen, the sardine, queen of Venetian tradition—grilled, fried, or in saòr—is served alongside grilled cuttlefish, fried fish, and mixed grills. The evenings are enlivened by music and dancing.
