About Carbonara and Artichoke Festival

Rome arrives in Legnano thanks to Contrada San Martino, which dedicates a festival to the flavors of the capital. Between late January and early February, the covered and heated hall of the contrada fills with the aromas of Roman cuisine: carbonara pasta, artichokes alla giudia, roast porchetta, coda alla vaccinara, and supplì cacio e pepe. A feast curated by chef Pippo, in the heart of one of the Palio contradas, for a taste journey from Lombardy to Lazio.

Rome on a trip to Legnano

The Festival of Carbonara and Artichoke brings Roman cuisine to the Municipality of Legnano (Province of Milan), thanks to Contrada San Martino, one of the eight contradas of the Palio. In the spaces at via XXIX Maggio 207, the contrada sets up a fully covered and heated hall, suitable for all ages.

Flavors of the Capital

Chef Pippo, a well-known face at Legnano festivals, works in the kitchen. The menu celebrates two protagonists of Roman tradition - carbonara and artichokes - with:

  • Pasta alla carbonara
  • Artichokes alla giudia
  • Roast porchetta
  • Coda alla vaccinara
  • Supplì cacio e pepe

A Contrada in Celebration

Like the other festivals of the Palio di Legnano contradas, this is also a moment of strong community cohesion: the members of San Martino take care of the kitchen and service, welcoming citizens and visitors. The covered and heated hall makes it suitable for families and those looking for a different option, featuring Roman flavors, just a short walk from the center of Legnano. Takeaway is also available.
