The Uboldo Potato Festival is the event that every September celebrates the most distinctive product of this municipality in the province of Varese: the Uboldo potato. Appreciated in Lombard agriculture, it is known for its yellow, firm, and not very floury flesh, ideal for frying, boiling, baking, and stewing. The festival is the heart of the wider Uboldo Festival, organized by the Pro Loco, and serves as an occasion to rediscover the village's peasant culture.

Direct sales, markets, and street food

The highlight is the direct sale of potatoes and local agricultural products, set up in Via San Martino by local farms. Along the streets of the center, there are creative markets, street food stands, and stalls from traders and associations. There are also cultural initiatives, such as the presentation of the village's historical-artistic heritage, and areas dedicated to sports, with climbing and old-fashioned wooden games.

Districts, music, and Marian procession

The festival involves the districts of Uboldo — such as the Lazzarett district and the Bell district — and offers music and entertainment with folk groups like I Brianzoli. Evening dances, themed regional dinners at the Oratorio San Pio, and painting and photography contests liven up the entire weekend. The solemn Marian procession, which starts from the parish church of SS. Pietro e Paolo, concludes the festivities, intertwining the religious and popular dimensions. The Potato Festival thus confirms itself as a cherished event, capable of uniting taste, tradition, and community.
