Festa della Birra di Campocavallo

A true Bavarian festival in the heart of the Marche

The Festa della Birra di Campocavallo is one of the most beloved events at the end of summer in the Municipality of Osimo, in the province of Ancona. Every year, at the beginning of September, the hamlet of Campocavallo dresses up for the festival and welcomes thousands of visitors along Via del Covo, where the large festival area is set up to recreate the typical atmosphere of German beer festivals, a sort of miniature Oktoberfest in the heart of the Marche region.

Draught beer and German cuisine

The heart of the event is, of course, the beer: Spaten and Löwenbräu beers are tapped on draught, offered in numerous varieties, with a preview of Oktoberfest. Accompanying them is a cuisine that blends Bavarian tradition and Marche flavors: spätzle with butter and speck, pork knuckle with sauerkraut, würstel, goulash, and pretzels coexist with local specialties such as grilled meats and pasta with wild boar ragù. Service is divided between a self-service area with over 800 seats, both covered and uncovered, and a biergarten with table service that can be booked.

Music, games, and fun for everyone

Every evening is enlivened by live music, with orchestras and bands that get the audience dancing and singing until late at night. There are also popular games and an area dedicated to children, with a play area and entertainment every evening, confirming the family-friendly and popular nature of the festival. Admission is free and open, with no obligation to purchase, making the event accessible to all.

A growing tradition

Born to promote the conviviality of the Campocavallo community, the Beer Festival has become over the years a reference point in the calendar of festivals and sagre (traditional festivals) in Osimo and the entire province of Ancona. Included among the official festivals and sagre of the Municipality of Osimo, it attracts visitors from all over the Marche thanks to the combination of good beer, genuine cuisine, and a warm festive atmosphere.
