The king of Dolomite legumes

In Lamon, a municipality in the Feltrino area of the province of Belluno, the bean is not just a simple legume: it is identity, history, and landscape. The Fagiolo di Lamon della Vallata Bellunese IGP has been cultivated in this area for about five hundred years, favoured by the alluvial-gravelly soil and the mild, humid climate, and since 1996 it has boasted European Protected Geographical Indication recognition. The Festa del Fagiolo, the heart of the 'A Tavola nel Feltrino' food and wine review, celebrates it, reaching its 30th edition in 2026.

The market and historic varieties

In the centre of Lamon, the festival features the bean market, where you can buy the different ecotypes of the IGP product — Spagnolet, Spagnol, Canalin, and Calonega — directly from local producers, and taste it in the many preparations of Bellunese cuisine at the gastronomic stands. Alongside, there are exhibitions dedicated to the history and traditions of the area, sculptures, craft exhibitions, and shows that liven up the days.

A festival that enhances the territory

Organised by the Pro Loco Lamon, the event is one of the most important autumn food and wine events in the Belluno area: a way to support a mountain agricultural supply chain and to introduce visitors and the curious to an excellent product, a symbol of the simple yet refined cuisine of the Dolomites. For those visiting the Feltrino area in September, it is the ideal opportunity to discover the authentic flavours of this corner of Veneto.
