A festival that tells the story of mountain viticulture
The Festa dell'Uva di Fonzaso is one of the most deeply rooted events in Valbelluna, in the province of Belluno. Its origins date back to the 1930s; after a period of hiatus, the festival was relaunched in the early 2000s and is now a regular fixture in late September, having reached its twentieth edition. It celebrates so-called heroic viticulture, practiced on the difficult slopes of the Venetian mountains, and the area's peasant traditions.
Wines, flavors, and allegorical floats
The heart of the festival is the tasting of Belluno wines, guided by sommeliers, alongside a rich market of local agricultural products and crafts. The Pro Loco opens its food stand, offering specialties such as roast pork and grilled meats. The most anticipated moment is the parade of allegorical floats dedicated to grapes and the harvest, accompanied by majorettes and folk groups, which winds through the center of Fonzaso on the afternoon of the final Sunday.
Three days of tradition
Alongside the wines and floats, the program includes guided tours of the village churches and monuments, book presentations, conferences on viticulture, shows, and entertainment for all ages. The festival, which enjoys the patronage of the Veneto Region, usually concludes with the awarding of prizes for the floats and a fireworks display. Organized by the Pro Loco di Fonzaso APS, it is a true community celebration that attracts visitors from across the province each year.
Festa dell'Uva — edition 2026
For 2026, the Pro Loco di Fonzaso will again host the historic Grape Festival, traditionally held on the last weekend of September, with the parade of allegorical floats on the final Sunday. Based on previous editions, the program includes guided tastings of Belluno wines, a market of agricultural products and crafts, a food stand, guided tours, conferences on viticulture, and shows.

How to get there
Fonzaso is located in the province of Belluno, along the SS47 della Valsugana, a few kilometers from Feltre. By car from the A31 motorway or the SS47; the nearest train station is Feltre, connected by bus to Fonzaso.
Admission
Access to the festival and events in the town center is generally free. The food stand and some guided tastings may require a contribution or reservation.
