Walking tours in the footsteps of Saint Francis, between art, convents, and historic sites
The Trekking Urbani di Feltre – Itinerari Francescani are a series of guided cultural walks that, from June to October, accompany visitors in discovering the Franciscan heritage of the city of Feltre (province of Belluno). The initiative was born on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, an event that in 2026 will animate numerous cultural events throughout Italy.
The routes lead through the most significant sites of Franciscan Feltre: the Co-Cathedral, the churches of San Giacomo Maggiore and Santa Maria degli Angeli, the Diocesan Museum, the Modern Art Gallery, and the Monte di Pietà in Palazzo Tomitano. Some excursions extend to the Sanctuary of Saints Vittore and Corona, on Monte Miesna. Each itinerary intertwines the artistic dimension with the spiritual one, recounting the Franciscan presence in the city's memory and places.
Promoted by the Municipality of Feltre, the treks last from 2 to 3 hours and are designed for a maximum of 30 participants each. It is an original way to experience the medieval citadel, combining movement, culture, and discovery of the territory. An accessible experience, free for children up to 7 years old, which enhances the deep bond between Feltre, art, and Franciscan tradition.
