Festa 'd Magg: The heartbeat of spring in Borgo Piave

The Festa 'd Magg is the highly anticipated spring festival that brings Corso Piave in Alba to life, right in the heart of the Borgo Piave district, in the province of Cuneo (Piedmont). Launched in 2013 by the Albauno Association, the event has evolved from a simple local gathering into a city-wide highlight, attracting visitors from the surrounding Langhe and Roero areas.

An evening of celebration for all ages

For one night—the last Friday of May—a stretch of Corso Piave becomes a vibrant pedestrian zone, buzzing with activity from 7:00 PM until late. The street comes alive with live music, skateboarding demonstrations, dance school performances, vintage car parades, children's entertainment, and food stalls hosted by local businesses, with shops staying open for the occasion.

Music, comedy, and live entertainment

The program features a mix of concerts, DJ sets, and the popular TinyConcerts showcasing local talent, culminating in a major evening performance by a nationally renowned comedian. The entire night is broadcast live by Radio Alba, amplifying the festive atmosphere throughout the district.

A festival born from the community

The strength of the Festa 'd Magg lies in its grassroots roots: it is a festival conceived and built by the merchants, associations, and residents of Borgo Piave. The organization involves the Albauno Association, the ACA (Alba Merchants Association), the Piave Neighborhood Committee, the Borgo del Fumo, and the Municipality of Alba, serving as a successful example of collaboration between institutions, businesses, and citizens.

Alba and the Langhe

Visiting the Festa 'd Magg is also the perfect opportunity to discover Alba, the capital of the Langhe, famous for its white truffles and wine, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. This spring event kicks off the long season of festivities that animate the city and its surrounding hills, wineries, and Piedmontese gastronomic traditions.
