The Ferragosto of a border village
Ferragosto Langoschese is the summer festival of Langosco, a small municipality in Lomellina in the Province of Pavia, on the border with Piedmont. Organised by the Pro Loco (local tourism board), it takes place in Piazza Libertà on 15 and 16 August, transforming the town into a true capital of flavours for two evenings.
Two dinners, two journeys into taste
The first evening features specialities of Lomellina and Piedmontese tradition: borderland appetisers, tortellini, panissa, mixed fried food Piedmontese style, and grilled meat, followed by pastries. The second evening becomes a journey through Italy's regions, from caponata to parmigiana, from Sicilian arancini to Campanian meatballs in sauce, from Aosta Valley cheeses to Ligurian ravioli with walnut sauce, and finally Roman-style tripe.
Music and conviviality
The evenings, which start at 7:30 PM, are accompanied by live music and a festive atmosphere designed for socialising. Admission is free and no reservation is needed: guests can sit at the tables and choose from the dishes on the menu.
A tradition that returns every summer
A regular fixture of Pavia's Ferragosto celebrations, the festival is an opportunity to discover the hospitality of rural Lombardy and the cuisine of a borderland where the traditions of Lomellina and Piedmont meet. A simple and authentic way to experience August 15th, away from the crowds.
Ferragosto Langoschese — edition 2026
For the 2026 edition, Langosco renews its Ferragosto celebration in Piazza Libertà, with two evenings starting at 7:30 PM. The established format includes a first evening dedicated to Lomellina and Piedmontese specialities, featuring panissa, Piedmontese mixed fried food, grilled meat, and desserts, and a second evening offering a journey through Italian regional cuisines, from caponata to Roman-style tripe. The evenings are accompanied by live music. Free admission, no reservation required. The detailed menu will be announced by the Pro Loco of Langosco.
