Ferragosto in Bagno di Romagna

Every year, around August 15th, the spa town of Bagno di Romagna celebrates the height of summer with Ferragosto Bagnese, an event organised by the Pro Loco Bagno di Romagna Terme. For three consecutive evenings, the charming Piazza Ricasoli, in the historic centre of the town, transforms into a large open-air lounge where music, entertainment, shows, and tombola set the rhythm of the festival.

A village festival in the heart of the Apennines

Bagno di Romagna is one of the most well-known spa resorts in the province of Forlì-Cesena, nestled in the upper Savio Valley, a short distance from the border with Tuscany. In summer, the town fills up with holidaymakers and wellness tourists, and Ferragosto Bagnese is the event that, from mid-August, brings residents and guests together in a typically Romagnolo atmosphere of lightheartedness and conviviality.

What's happening in the square

The evenings usually start around 9 PM and offer a programme designed for all ages:

• Live music and dance: orchestras and bands play the greatest dance hits, from 60s and 70s revivals to the latest chart-toppers.
• Entertainment and shows: entertainment for families and festive moments in the square.
• Tombola: the unmissable tradition that draws young and old around the bingo cards.
• Pro Loco food stand: dishes and typical local products of Romagnolo cuisine, from piadina to the flavours of the Apennines.

The festival is part of a particularly event-rich August in Bagno di Romagna: immediately after Ferragosto Bagnese, the historic centre hosts Un Bagno di Buskers, a festival of street artists with jugglers, acrobats, and musicians who liven up the town's squares and alleys.
